Julia Roberts opened up about working on Ticket to Paradise, her current film, after a four-year hiatus, and being away from her family the entire time.
The Pretty Woman actor spoke about her return to acting in an interview with The New York Times, alongside her co-star George Clooney from the romantic comedy.
I just take whatever comes my way,” Roberts said to the media. I don’t have any upcoming acting gigs, and I make an effort to live in the moment and avoid planning forward. It’s great to be back in a routine. And being a mom and being at home is the best thing ever.
Being in Australia to film was difficult due to the strict Covid laws, and the fact that it wasn’t more so is a credit to the friendships I made and the atmosphere of creativity that pervaded the set. She went on to explain, “It’s just not in my cellphone data.”
Roberts and her husband Danny Moder are the parents of their three adolescent children: Henry, 15, Phinneas, 17, and Hazel, 17. Roberts described this separation from her family as the “longest” time she has ever been apart from them.
Roberts added, “The Clooneys saved me from extreme loneliness and despair,” while gushing about Clooney, his wife Amal, and their children Alexander and Ella. It was the longest time I’ve ever been separated from my loved ones, and we were trapped in an airtight chamber.
Roberts said, “I don’t think I’ve spent that much time alone since I was 25.”
