Amazon is boosting its NFL coverage just one week before it begins airing Thursday Night Football.

The tech giant has funded a weekly show called The NFL Pile On, which will provide a comedic perspective on various moments from the previous week’s NFL games. Taran Killam, formerly of Saturday Night Live, will host The NFL Pile On, which was made in collaboration with NFL Films.

The show will premiere on Prime Video every Wednesday at 7 p.m., just in time for the TNF game on Thursday.Every week, Killam will be joined by Sarah Tiana (a comedian) and a different guest.

To quote Amazon: “From mic’d up players during pregame warmups to postgame press conference one-liners—everything from studio shows, social media, and fashion faux pas will be fair game” in The NFL Pile On.

Amazon has signed a major advertising deal with Carnival Cruise Lines, who will be the show’s presenting sponsor and the only advertiser.

In previous years, Amazon had to share Thursday Night Football rights with TV holders, but this year will be the first time it has sole rights. The tech giant is leaning into alternative broadcasts for the game and has hired former NBC NFL announcer Al Michaels and analyst Kirk Herbstreit to head up its coverage.

So far, Amazon has planned an alternative broadcast featuring YouTube stars Dude Perfect and another featuring Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm.

Killam said in a statement, “I am so excited and grateful to help launch a show about two things I love: football and comedy.” Prime members and NFL fans alike will have access to exclusive, all-access content thanks to our partnership with the NFL and Prime Video. as well as the fact that I am subjected to as many The Boys spoilers as I can handle.
